2009 Ð 2010 District Goal Strategies

 

Elementary Focus:

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Continue staff development and implementation of Responsive Classroom program.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Implement an extended year summer program for students in the First Beginnings program.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Plan next phase in programming for children in First Beginnings program.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Implement a full-day kindergarten program beginning in September 2009.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Implement adopted ELA series in all grade levels across all elementary schools.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Implement an OPAL program for grade four utilizing an Òin-houseÓ delivery model and ½ day format.

 

 

Secondary Focus:

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Continue staff development and implementation of Capturing KidsÕ Hearts program at the middle and high school.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Provide staff development and continue implementation strategies to develop a Professional Learning Community at the high school.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Implement second program in CISCO IT Essentials at the high school through CISCO Learning Academy.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:   Implement a multi-year research course in science at the high school that enables students to conduct authentic scientific research and earn college credit.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Implement a University in the High School program in Child Development that enables students to earn college credit.

 

 

District - Wide Focus:

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Recruit, hire, and orient a Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Plan and implement first phase of building proposition.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Replace and implement new student information system.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Complete a three-year district plan as part of budget development.   

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Utilize Erie 1 BOCES and the Board Policy Subcommittee to continue a review and revision of all Board of Education policies. 

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Continue to address district-wide maintenance projects as described in the districtÕs 2009 Ð 2010 Long Range Plan.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Replace vehicles and equipment as described in the districtÕs 2009 Ð 2010 Long Range Plan.

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Complete bus replacement as approved by community vote in May 2009. 

 

  1. Goal Strategy:  Continue to create an inquiry-based research program in the district that expands the completed pilot from 2008 Ð 2009.
