Guidance Department

Senior High Open House

Thursday, August 28, 2008

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

In just a few weeks you will be starting the school year in a new school! The year ahead of you is full of promise, challenge, and new experiences. All of your teachers, counselors, and school administrators are eager to meet you and to help you get off to a wonderful start in the High School.

You may come for the entire morning or just a short time.

Be sure to stop in with you family and friends! Stop at the Guidance tables set up in the hallway entrance of the High School, where you will meet your counselor and receive a copy of your schedule that lists teacher's names and room numbers.

A tour of the building will be provided by some of the upperclassmen. They will help you find your way around, find your locker and homeroom, walk through your schedule, and answer any of your questions.

Please mark your calendar for August 28. We are eager to meet you and welcome you to Scotia-Glenville High School.

If you are unable to attend the Open House on Thursday, you can pick up your schedule from the Guidance Office on
Friday, August 29 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

See you on Thursady, August 28 at the Senior High Open House!

Capital District YMCA
Each year the Schenectady County Branches of the Capital District YMCA conduct their annual Outstanding Student and Educator Awards. This program recognizes those high school juniors and seniors and high school educators who exhibit qualities of leadership, citizenship and volunteerism in the community. This year Scotia-Glenville nominated students Eva Crisafulli, Alicia Lewis, John Lewis, Laura Pravel, and Jordan Traficante and educator Kimberly DeCorah. John Lewis was the recipient of this year's Outstanding Student Award.

News Channel 13-
"Class of the Capital Region"
As part of WNYT's Commit to Kids Campaign, Channel 13 will highlight area high school students who have distinguished themselves academically. This year Jillian King and Rachael Bishop have been invited to spend a day at Six Flag's Great Escape/Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George. Each student will be asked to announce her name and the college attending and at 11:00 AM will appear with Jim Kambrich for the Midday news. Congratulations to the "Class of the Capital Region".
