4 Approve Elementary, Middle School and Senior High School Codes of Conduct
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the revised Elementary, Middle School, and Senior High School Codes of Conduct, as submitted.
5. Request for Overnight Field Trip Š Spanish Travel Club to Avila, Spain
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the request for the overnight trip of the Spanish Travel Club students and chaperones to Avila, Spain, from February 16, 2007 - March 2, 2007, at no expense to the district.

8. Formation of a Board of Education Policy Sub Committee
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the following Resolution:
Resolved that the Board of Education establish a Board of Education Policy Sub Committee, consisting of two or three members of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, to review, revise and amend existing Board of Education Policies and develop new policies as needed.
9. Resolution: Amend the 2006-2007 General Fund Budget.
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the Resolution, dated July 24, 2006, to authorize the increase in the general fund revenue and appropriations in the amount of $1,077.06.
10. Approve Classroom Rental & Ancillary Services Agreement with BOCES
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve a classroom rental and ancillary services agreement with the Capital Region BOCES for 2006-2007 (for lease of seven classrooms and Distance Learning classrooms), as submitted, and authorize the President of the Board to execute same.
11. Request for Overnight Field Trip - Glen-Worden Elementary School Grade 5 to Camp Chingachgook, Lake George, NY
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the request for the overnight trip for the Glen-Worden Elementary School Grade 5 students and chaperones to Camp Chingachgook, Lake George, from October 12-13, 2006.
12. Adopt the Textbook Discovering Art History
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the following book for use in the Grade 8 Studio in Art course:
Discovering Art History Davis Publications, Inc.
13. Contract Services with BOCES for the 2006-2007 School Year
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education authorize the district to contract with BOCES for services for the 2006-2007 school year.
14. Resolution: NYS Annual School Boards Association Annual Convention
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the following Resolution:
Resolved that the Board of Education approve the attendance of the Board of Education members and the Superintendent of Schools at the NYS Annual School Boards Association Annual Convention, October 26 - 29, 2006, in New York City.
15. Communications
a. Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of Karen McKenney, Guidance Counselor (Senior High School), effective February 1, 2007, with appreciation for her service to the district.
b. Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the request for an unpaid leave of absence for childcare purposes of Lauren (Reznitsky) Scavullo, Elementary Teacher (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective October 14, 2006 through November 26, 2006.
c. Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Julie Mancini, par-time Teaching Assistant (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective c.o.b. August 31, 2006,in order for her to accept the probationary Teaching Assistant position (Lincoln Elementary School), effective September 1, 2006.
16. Routine Business
a. Staffing
1) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Sarah A. Herzog as Teacher of Children with Handicapping Conditions (General Special Education Tenure Area) (Middle School), effective September 1, 2006 through August 31, 2009, with 2006-2007 salary to be at the annual rate of $41,479 (Step 4 +M +14). Ms. Herzog has provisional certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
2) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Catherine Tarjick as Remedial Reading Teacher (Glen-Worden/Glendaal Elementary Schools), effective September 1, 2006 through August 31, 2009, with 2006-2007 salary to be at the annual rate of $40,077 (Step 3 +M). Ms. Tarjick has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
3) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Candi Bordell as Foreign Language Teacher (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2006 through August 31, 2008, with 2006-2007 salary to be at the annual rate of $45,030 (Step 6 +M +30). Ms. Bordell has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
4) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the regular substitute appointment of Casey R. Lake as Teacher of Children with Handicapping Conditions (General Special Education Tenure Area) (Middle School), effective September 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, with 2006-2007 salary to be at the annual rate of $36,324 (Step 1 +12). Ms. Lake has initial certification.
5) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Julie Mancini as Teaching Assistant (Lincoln Elementary School), effective September 1, 2006 through August 31, 2009, with no change in current hourly rate of pay. Ms. Mancini holds a Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant.
6) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Sheila Bellinger as Teaching Assistant, (Districtwide), effective September 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, with 2006-2007 salary to be at the annual rate of $15,619.50 (Step 2, 6.0 hours/day). Ms. Bellinger holds a Continuing
Certificate as a Teaching Assistant. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
7) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Christine Grugan as Teacher Aide (Middle School), in accordance with Civil Service Regulations, effective September 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, with 2006-2007 salary to be at the rate of $8.25/hour (3.5 hours/day). This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
8) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following part-time summer school appointment:

Kim DeCorah (Distance Learning Lab) $8.25/hour, up to a total of 12 hours
9) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the increase in assignment of Sharon Kristel, Typist (Senior High School) (Library) from 6.75 hours/day to 7.5 hours/day, effective September 1, 2006, with no change in her current hourly rate of pay.
