Special  Meeting Minutes

 

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District was held at the Library Media Center at the High School in said district on November 17, 2003.

 

President of the Board of Education Kurt Ahnert called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

 

Present:      Ahnert, Bradley, Carbone, Conlon, Magruder, Smith, Superintendent Marcelle, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Kavanaugh, Business Administrator Nolie

 

Excused:     Carpenter, Margruder

Susan Cerrito, a 6th Grade Teacher, commented on the success of the co-teaching model currently in place at the Middle School.

 

Rebecca Ayers, a 6th Grade Teacher, expressed a concern about the large class sizes in grade 6.

 

PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION: EFFICIENCY REVIEW

 

Superintendent Marcelle presented a brief history of a number of successful practices in the district that were the result of efficiency reviews.  The Board of Education and Administrative Council Members then took part in a lengthy discussion of efficiency reviews.  The process for identifying areas to be reviewed, as well as the naming of specific items that should be considered for review were both thoroughly discussed. 

 

President Ahnert thanked all of the participants for their effort.

 

MOVED by Carbone that the meeting be adjourned.
