Scotia-Glenville Mission Statement

The Scotia-Glenville Central School District is committed to providing an environment which allows students to realize their full potential and thus prepares them for life in an ever-changing world. In the tradition of excellence, Board of Education, administration, staff, parents, business and community members will continue to ensure that our educational system fulfills the needs of our students.


Scotia-Glenville's
Basic Goals of Instruction

Improve skills in reading, writing, and mathematics as measured on standardized tests and by the use of authentic assessments.

Pursue strategies and academic/behavioral standards that focus on improving student results and classroom outcomes in accordance with student potential.

Promote good citizenship.

Explore, develop and implement "Vision 2000" short- and long-term committee objectives with a focus on what programs and skills will be needed to prepare today's students to live and work in the 21st century.

Afford all students the opportunity to learn the skills of how to swim, drive a car, balance a checkbook and complete a short and/or long federal income tax form.
