FEB. 12, 2007: The Board of Education has created "swing zones" in certain areas in the district to ease enrollment crunches at the Glendaal and Glen-Worden elementary schools.

Incoming kindergarten students with no older siblings who live in these are affected when they register; after June 30, any child who registers as a new student in those areas will be affected.

Here are the streets in the revised boundary areas.

UPDATE ON REDISTRICTING FOR JAN. 22 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING

Board members have studied this issue for the past three months and a majorinty have supported an the creation of "swing zones" in the areas around Pine Street/MacArthur Drive/Vernon Boulevard/Vley Road “triangle” area in the Glendaal School zone and Sunnyside/Washington/Irving /Knickerbocker roads area in the Glen-Worden School zone.

After June 30, new families and students who live in those Glendaal areas would attend the Sacandaga School and new families and students who live in those Glen-Worden areas would attend the Lincoln School.
